-- Interludes

Chicken Scratch is the first interlude from the children’s orchestral show, “A Day at the Farm”.  This work is a rhythmic and energetic musical representation of a farmyard full of chickens who are clucking and pecking.  The rhythmic use of col legno strings and bamboo stick percussion contributes to the “fowl” impression and the result is a lively and energetic work.

Counting Sheep

Counting Sheep is the second interlude from the children’s orchestral show, “A Day at the Farm”.  This pastoral single movement emulates a peaceful picture of a hillside dotted with grazing sheep.  The rising sun, a gentle breeze, and a shepherd’s flute are all musically represented and enhance the imaginative creation of a pastoral scene.
